In Q3 2021, the top five news and magazine apps on the Android platform in Algeria showed diverse performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Below is an overview of their performance.

Starting the quarter with approximately 15K downloads, the app peaked at 20.9K in the week of July 26. However, it saw a significant decline towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 4.6K downloads by the last week of September. Active users also showed variability, beginning at 244K and ending the quarter at 243K, with a notable dip in mid-August to 176K.

Xinhua News, published by Xinhua News, had an impressive surge in weekly downloads, especially in late August and September. Downloads skyrocketed from just 20 in late June to over 24K by the end of September. This growth was mirrored in active users, which saw a substantial increase from 2.2K to nearly 70K over the same period.

Opera News: breaking & local, published by Opera, showed steady performance in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads peaked at 24.3K in late August before stabilizing around 2.4K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the 400K mark throughout the quarter.

Chine Infos, published by Xinhuanet - China News, showed a significant increase in downloads in mid-August, peaking at 6.6K in the week of August 23. However, downloads declined towards the end of the quarter, dropping to zero by the last week of September.
